TY - Generic T1 - Simulating runoff to the Hungry Horse reservoir of western Montana T2 - 42nd Annual Western Snow Conference Y1 - 1974 A1 - Pearson, T. KW - Runoff models, Snowmelt AB - The Streamflow Synthesis And Reservoir Regulation (SSARR) Model has been modified for use by the Columbia River Forecasting Service (CRFS) in simulating runoff to the Hungry Horse Reservoir in western Montana. Temperatures from the 10,000 foot level were used from the National Center for Atmospheric Research sources together with ororaphic precipitation from ten separate zones. Daily Evapotranspiration Index and daily melt rates also by zones are functons of the modified model.Simulted runs from 1965, 1970 and 1971 were used to verify the accuracy of the model. The improved model can be used to assess cloud seeding benefits as well as in flood control and volumetric forecasting.
