TY - Generic T1 - Mountain versus sea level rainfall measurements during storms at Juneau, Alaska T2 - 33rd Annual Western Snow Conference Y1 - 1965 A1 - Murphy, T.D. A1 - Schamach, S. KW - Instrumentation, Precipitation gages AB - Rainfall intensity measurements are made at 3400 feet above sea level on Mount Juneau and at sea level at Juneau, Alaska. Three and six hourly amounts are compared and shown in tabulations. A description of meteorological and topographic elements in the area is presented. Recording gages designed for the work are described, also operation and installation. Conclusions indicate that the normal annual precipitation at the 3400 foot elevation site is about 3.27 times that at sea level and probably about 285 inches.
