An evaluation of snowpack and snowmelt factors effecting flood producing runoff volumes on the Feather River, California during December 1955. Basic data include a description of weather occurrences, snowpack, and watershed conditions together with potential snowmelt on snowpack compaction densities. Seven potential factors are listed for snowmelt equation, to obtain daily volumes of runoff in inches per day. The basin is divided into 100 foot elevation zones to assess the basin constants according to forest cover, also to form a basis for computation of the main snowpack area when the threshold density of 45% is reached and the lip-drainage at the edge of the pack is in progress. Resulting computations are shown in tables and graphs together with conclusions.
