Abstract | A report of a study dealing with evaporation from snow-fields and tree accumulation beginning in 1910 on Mt. Rose, Nevada, (10,800) and in the Lake Tahoe Basin, 6225 altitude. A description of field equipment and procedures of measurement is presented. Tabulations of hourly and daily data are shown in the 24 tables. Comparisons of data are discussed in the text, together with discussion of troubles and solutions to improve the measurements. The author has included data collected while on the Hobbs Exposition to the Ice Cap of Greenland in 1926. Evaporation from snow surfaces were made at that time and data with discussion of resulting information is also included. |
