Abstract | The use of underground storage of water as an integral part of the California State Water Plan is discussed in conjunction with surface reservoir storage. Reference is made to reports by the state Department of Water Resources and the state Water Resources Board. The benefits of potential storage for sub-surface water as related to power development, fisheries and agriculture are brought out. A plan for conjunctive operational program using both types of storage is proposed with economic and conservation of water playing an important part in the over-all plan of operation. Graphs illustrate the advantage of conjunctive planning. |
