Abstract | An article describing the feelings of the snow surveyor, the person who travels miles on skis or snow shoes and measures the snowpack at snow survey courses to obtain snow water content and snow depth. The frustrations and delights of this work are enumerated. A plea is made for more detailed planning towards better overnight cabin facilities and foods. Details of desired improvements in snow surveyor training, communications, sampling equipment, and general respect for the field mans attitude towards the work and general procedures are discussed. |
