Abstract | A snow melt water forecast procedure is developed using temperature, ground water, wind movement, precipitation and snow water content combined to plot against runoff. This graph is called a snowmelt scatter diagram or snow melt curve when plotted on logarithmic paper. Statistical methods are used to compute correlation coefficients, standard deviation and probable error of the factors involved with runoff data for the snow melt season. These computations aid materially in selecting the snow survey courses best suited for the particular stream under consideration, as well as other variables showing high coefficient of correlation. |
