Abstract

Problems of the cattle rancher using water for irrigation from un-regulated streams where water rights regulations necessitate the shutting off of the use when critical flows are reached. These shut-off dates are critical to crop development and harvest, and play an important part in the economy of the operations. Also the date of probable shut-off of primary and secondary water rights can be forecast within reasonable degree of accuracy is a step towards great economy in farming the semi-arid west areas.
