Abstract

A historical review of the Denver city water system from the beginning in 1872 with steady growth and transcontinental diversion from west to east through the Moffit Tunnel in 1936. The need for additional reservoir storage has become evident. In order to better manage the storage problem and diversions, an addition is being made to the present snow survey course network to meet the demands for more accurate streamflow forecasting. Proposed locations of courses are shown on the accompanying map of the project.
