Abstract | A report dealing with variations in measurement of snow water equivalent received by telemetering equipment from several stations under operation by the Corps of Army Engineers at the Walla Walla District Office is presented. At remote locations on the Clearwater River in Idaho, isotope snow gages and pressure pillows had been installed and operated by telemetering equipment for five years. A brief description of the radio reporting network and preliminary comparisons of the operation of the two types of gaging apparatus is included. Comparisons are made from the standpoints of accuracy of measurement, dependability, cost of operation, and the initial cost of equipment. |
