Abstract

A discussion of the effects of the new ‘Wilderness Law’ passed by Congress in 1964 is presented. This law has such drastic restrictions written into the text that programs designated to protect the area; water management, wildlife management, fire protection, pest control; are not allowed to enter the areas to carry out necessary work. Evidence of these restrictions are presented in documentary briefs submitted with this paper. References are made to 18 specific incidences of hindrance and are presented with data in tabular form.
