Abstract | Statistical methods can be used to select sampling points along a snow course to be tested for water content. In the cases reported it was arbitrarily decided that an error of sampling which was plus or minus 10 percent of the average water content for the snow course was satisfactory. Standard deviation was calculated and standard error was taken as a percent of the average. A formula is given to estimate the adequacy of the sampling. |
