Abstract | A comparison was made of the relative accuracy of the Mt. Rose spring balance as improved by the Leupold, Vopel and Company of Portland, Oregon, and the Chatillon type with iso-elastic springs. The improved balance was within the limits of observational error of ordinary field work. It is believed that the accuracy of the simple springs can be further improved. The graduations were not tested for accuracy of machining. |
