Abstract | The importance of accurate water supply forecasts for use by the Power Interchange Committee towards the production of power on the Pacific Coast is presented. The coordination efforts of the Committee to conserve fuel oil and gas reserves for steam generation in relation to hydro power is one of the aspects of ‘War Time’ economics. The snow hydrologists preparing streamflow forecasts are providing an active service to the wartime economy through power development for industrial use and planning for the routing of power to areas where shortage of power occurs at peak demand periods. |
