Abstract | Factors affecting the snow and runoff relationship are listed, and a method presented for adjusting snow survey results of April 1 in constructing the forecast curve so as to compensate for temperature deviation from normal during the runoff season. The method is based on results of studies on two small drainage basins in Oregon. The selection of 2-month period of temperature departures as well as the correction coefficient to be applied are selected on the basis of the amount of water stored in the snow on April 1 as measured by snow survey . Results of the corrections as applied to both basins are tabulated and graphed for several years.Discussions are presented by Fred H. Paget, Harry Olsen, Ray K. Linsley, and Garfield Stubblefield. |
