Abstract

Orange shellac is considered superior to white shellac for coating snow sampler tubes because of the ease in locating bare or chipped spots. Scotch drafting tape is satisfactory and inexpensive substitute for adhesive tape to cover the inspection ports during the shellacking of the sampler. Fleece lined rubberized gloves were found superior to woolen mittens in the field because of their water proofing qualities and insulation from warm hands on the tubes. An amber plastic face mask is exhibited for protection to the eyes and face.
