Abstract | A hydrologic history of the Humboldt River in Central Nevada is presented. The geophysical features that cause so many discrepancies in the climatic changes and resulting difficulties in forecasting streamflow from the area are discussed. Mention is made of the 1910 flood and an attempt at analysing the causes from fragmentary hear-say data is given. Progress is reported in establishing climatological stations and some 31 show courses that will aid materially in the future to forecast the flow of the streams at the Paradise gaging station. Irrigation diversions are being measured. |
