Abstract | The National Weather Service has recently implemented an operational airborne snow survey program in North Dakota, South Dakota, western Minnesote and a portion of Saskatchewan. The airborne technique is capable of measuring mean areal snow water equivalent over 6-10 Square Km flight lines in the upper Midwest. Additionally, it is possible to measure areal snow water equivalent at 250 m intervals along a flight line. |
