Abstract | Three sets of data, representing the late February snow, white ice and black ice cover of Elizabeth Lake, Labrador, are analysed and compared. Similar spatial patterns are found to exist between years with central and marginal Locations tending to exhibit consistently above or below average thicknesses. It is suggested that the data sets provide a useful basis for designing ice and snow surveys on all medium sized lakes in snowy environments. |
