The Western Snow conference is celebratinag its 50th anniversary this year in Reno, Nevada. The WSC finds its origin here in 1933, under the initial guidance of Dr. James E. The scientific and technological papers presented at the annual meetings have influenced the investigations of snow hydrology throughout the world. The WSC bibliography indicates the total number of papers which have been published in the Proceedings now exceeds 700. This historic organization continues to serve many important functions at the national and international levels within the fields of snow hydrology and meteorololgy.
