Abstract | Describes development of a runoff simulation technique, originally prepared for use on the American River and then applied to operational problems on the Kings River watershed during the record snowmelt runoff of 1969. Includes descriptions of hydrologic concepts and processes which have been modeled, basic data which were required to achieve simulation of these processes, and characteristics of the watershed. The paper is concluded with a description of how the modeling technique was used as a management tool to provide basic information for making operational decisions in the Kings River watershed during 1969. |
