“From Research into Practice”

Please plan to join us for the 92nd annual meeting of the Western Snow Conference to be held in Bozeman, Montana at the historic Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture, May 19-22, 2025.  In addition to the in-person conference meeting, a virtual attendance option is being planned to allow for broader participation. 
In order to encourage participation in the Conference, all presenters are required to attend in person.

Hospitality Event
Please join us for a special hospitality event in the Emerson Ballroom.  Refreshments will be served and we will be treated to a special presentation of aerial arts and contemporary dance by the Mountain Air Dance Troupe. Click HERE for more information.

Tuesday Social Event
Please join us for a short play called “No Winter’s Tale” – a modern-language adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale” with relevant implications to the current age.  Click HERE for more information.
Technical Tour
Please join us for a half day Technical Tour of Montana State University’s Subzero lab – a state of the science laboratory that includes temperature-controlled chambers, specialized equipment for snow mechanics, and field instrumentation.  Additionally, there will be field demonstrations of new sensors that are deployed on Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or Drones).  Click HERE for more information.
